What Can Homeopathy Be Used For?

What can homeopathy be used for? Homeopathy treats all of you as a complete person. Your problem or illness is a part of you, and your remedy will be individually chosen to match your symptoms, and your situation.

homeopathic remedies mirror your symptomsYour remedy will be individually chosen to mirror your individual symptoms. Your response to treatment will be as individual as you are. There is no 'one size fits all'. This is the strength of homeopathic treatment.

Homeopathy helps you by stimulating your own healing ability. Hence, you can use homeopathy for a range of conditions, physical or emotional, and homeopathy may even benefit hurts in both body and mind that occurred many years ago.

Homeopathic medicines are used both to balance the whole system, assisting natural healing of the underlying problem, and to relieve immediate pain or discomfort, such as in migraine, cystitis, or hay fever attacks.

Please note that the word 'treatment' does not imply cure, but an analysis of your case and the suggestion of indicated homeopathic remedies.

70% of patients report benefits from homeopathic treatment.

In a study at the Bristol Homeopathic Hospital, a UK National Health
Service hospital, over 70% of patients reported benefits. This 6-year
study involved 6500 patients with a range of conditions, including
eczema, arthritis, migraine, irritable bowel, menopausal problems,
depression, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Homeopathy All Over the World

homeopathy all over the worldHomeopathy is widely used throughout the world by professional homeopaths, who may see patients with everything from allergies to chronic illnesses, anxiety, depression, insomnia, children’s illnesses, and for maintenance of good health. Homeopathic medicines are particularly popular in France, Germany, South America and India, and increasing in popularity in many countries including the UK, United States and Canada, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Homeopathic remedies are used in emergencies and disaster areas such as the Ethiopian famine and the Asian tsunami. In fact there is a charity called Frontline
(www.homeopathyactiontrust.org/about-us/frontline-homeopathy/) that exists to take homeopathy to disadvantaged areas, where it supports the action of other charities and rescue agencies. Homeopathy can be used to assist in for shock, injury, snake bite, malaria and epidemic disease – some of our best statistics come from the treatment of cholera epidemics in England in the 1800s, 'flu epidemics in the 1900s, and Leptospirosis in the 21st century.

500 Million People Rely On Homeopathy

In 2005, the internationally respected World Health Organisation
declared that homeopathy is the second most used medical
system in the world. Around 500 million people rely on
homeopathy. There are thousands of homeopathic doctors working
in homeopathic clinics, hospitals and universities worldwide.

Homeopathy is Natural and has No Side Effects

homeopathy is safe and naturalHomeopathic medicines prescribed by a qualified homeopath are entirely safe, if used in accordance with your instructions.
Instructions on over-the-counter homeopathic medicines are not individualised, just as instructions on a packet of Ibuprofen are not individualised. If you are unsure about instructions on an over-the-counter purchase, always contact the manufacturer, or a reputable homeopath like myself.

Homeopathic medicines
prescribed by a qualified homeopath are safe for use in pregnancy and for babies and young children. Homeopathy can be used in conditions connected with stress, or other emotional causes, and may help where other kinds of treatment may have failed.

Sometimes homeopathy works best on its own, at other times I may suggest some other form of treatment that may also help.  Even in cases of terminal illness, it is sometimes possible to improve the quality of the patient’s life, and to give valuable personal support, both to the patient and to their carers.

Sometimes I may suggest that you see a doctor for tests, diagnosis, or conventional medical treatment. I always prefer my patients to  maintain a good relationship with their doctor.

What Can Homeopathy Be Used For?

My practice sees some areas of ill-health more than others, of course.
Here are some figures from an audit of my practice for the years 2000-2012, for new patients coming to me with a doctor's diagnosis of the following:
  • 42 with heavy periods, fibroids, menopause/HRT, fertility issues, PMT/PMS.
  • 13 with irritable bowel syndrome
  • 15 with sleep difficulties
  • 21 with allergies including eczema, hayfever and asthma
  • 3 with recurrent earaches
  • 3 with recurrent cystitis
  • 4 with migraines
  • 2 with recurrent sinusitis
  • 15 with anxiety or depression
  • 42 had conditions that doctors had not been able to diagnose, or which were not medical, for example, relationship problems.
Most of my clients have long term conditions, and benefit from a combination of natural remedies like homeopathy, and conventional medical treatment. I NEVER ask anyone to stop prescription medication.

Homeopathy Makes No Claims

Please use this only as a guide. Remember, no therapist can guarantee to solve a problem, whether with conventional medication, surgery, or natural therapies. In fact, it is against the law, in the UK and many other countries, to make promises or claims to cure.

It is also against the law to list indications for specific homeopathic remedies which are classed as 'unlicensed products' in the UK.

I hope this will not discourage you from taking advantage of natural therapies, like homeopathy, to assist your body’s own natural healing capabilities. Please ask as many questions as you need, to make your decision.

Information on this site is not intended in any way as prescription or diagnosis, and is not a substitute for medical advice. If you have a medical condition, or take prescription medication, do not neglect good quality medical support.

‘Homeopathic treatment’ does not imply cure, but an individual analysis of your situation and the selection of homeopathic remedies suited to you. No homeopathic medicines mentioned on this site should be taken as prescriptive, and you should always seek qualified advice before selecting homeopathic medicines for yourself or your children. Homeopathic medicine is complementary to good quality medical support, not a substitute. Please use your common sense, and always read instructions on any product.

Note: Reconstruction of homeopathic sections of website
Changes in UK law oblige me to remove suggested usage from specific homeopathic medicines. Homeopathy is still entirely legal, and available just as before, but medicines are now categorised as ‘’unlicensed products’. I apologise for this inconvenience. It is my opinion that restricting this information makes the use of homeopathic medicines less accurate and reliable for the general public.

Although I cannot give general guidelines on the website, you may still consult me, or another qualified homeopath, as an individual client. As this is more time-consuming, I may have to charge for this service.
